A lot of people ask me what serving a mission is all about, and why I would choose to do it. A mission isn't a vacation or study abroad program, it is an opportunity to serve my Father in Heaven. Because I have felt the incredible love of my Savior for me personally, because I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints contains the only true and restored gospel on this earth, and because I have been received more blessings than I can count, I am choosing to follow the example of my Savior to help others come unto Christ.
One of my favorite quotes is "Life is like an old-time rail journey- delays, sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinders and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling bursts of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride." I think this is a lot like how my mission will be.
I am grateful for the opportunity to be an instrument in the Lord's hands and I pray that during this time I will be able to become a better disciple of Jesus Christ, and share this joy with the people I meet.
Because I have been given much, I too must give.

Hasta luego!
